    Brownfield Bog Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"For paddlers who want to unplug and truly get away from it all, Brownfield Bog is ideal! While exploring this floodplain of the Saco River, you will be surrounded by lush vegetation. The thick bushes, reeds, and grasses make this wetland feel untouched.

Wildlife like moose, deer, and Maine’s large cats easily find camouflage in the thick foliage. While observing various waterbirds and looking for otters, paddlers may find themselves being watched. Birders consider Brownfield Bog a prime destination; Maine Audubon sometimes sponsors trips for them to experience this remote wetland. Enjoying glimpses of the White Mountains, melodies of songbirds, splashing of water-birds, and the chance of spotting a moose just around the next bend are part of the Brownfield Bog experience."
