Little Wilson and Big Wilson Falls Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Like the Cooper Pond to Nahmakanta Stream hike (page 23), this outing takes you across some of the lower elevations of the A.T.’s journey through Maine, passing several ponds and streams. A number of slate ridges and corresponding valleys cause you to negotiate quite a few ups and downs along the way, with some of them being quite steep. However, none of the elevation changes last for any great length.
With a 60-foot drop, Little Wilson Falls is considered by many to be the highest falls on the A.T. It is certainly one of the highest in Maine. Deep pools at its base are inviting swimming holes, but be careful if you decide to take a dip, as you will need to drop almost 100 feet into the deep slate canyon to reach the water."
