Debsconeag Backcountry

Debsconeag Backcountry Professional Review and Guide

"This hike through remote woodlands is difficult only because of its length. The hike visits four of the Debsconeag lakes and ponds. Each is very different, but all offer execellent wildlife viewing opportunities.

The surrounding woods, much of it towering mature trees, also offers good chances to see wildlife, especially moose. From the ledges above Seventh Debsconeag Pond, you get fine views to the west, north, and south. The trail is lightly maintained, but fairly easy to follow because of good blazing."
