Eggemoggin Reach

Eggemoggin Reach Professional Review and Guide

"The Reach is an impressive stretch of water that runs northwest–southeast from Cape Rosier to Naskeag Point. You’ll find very few places to pull out in the Reach itself, except for several islands at its southeastern end. But there’s plenty to explore along its shores on either side, and it’s well worth the effort.

These waters are notorious for funneling wind that can puff and gust and make it tough going for small boats. If winds from either the northwest or southeast are in the forecast, you’d be better off paddling elsewhere that day unless you’re fond of hard work. The tidal current—which isn’t particularly strong—floods northwest and ebbs southeast."
