Tidal Information
The areas of Jericho and Blue Hill bays that flank Swans Island develop strong currents and are exposed to open ocean conditions, creating the potential for very rough seas. Watch for boat traffic, particularly in Casco Passage. The south side of Swans is exposed to prevailing wind and swell from the south. The current between the Sister Islands increases and interacts with conditions, sometimes creating large standing waves.
