Clifford Park In-Town Loop

Clifford Park In-Town Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Trails are scarce in this region of Maine, due in part to the buildings and roadway infrastructure that support the summertime tourism economy of Old Orchard Beach, Saco, and Biddeford. Clifford Park offers an oasis from the waves of visitors and country clutter stores. Despite its semi-urban surroundings, the park boasts some challenging off-road terrain. Wilderness adventure is not to be had on the chapter ride, but many trail thrills will be found.

The trip begins on an abandoned road before following a doubletrack spur. This spur loops to eventually rejoin the central park loop. The three-mile ride affords short rocky downhills, climbs up tight singletrack, and quiet privacy by the sounds of The Falls. The loop is too short to exhaust anyone on just one lap, so plan on riding your own variations. There's a map-board of trails located at the Clifford Park parking lot to help you. Trail Surface: Mixed sections of smooth or rocky doubletrack and singletrack with wet areas and minor elevation changes."
