Rocky Pond Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Rocky Ponds lie south of Doubletop Mountain, an easy hike from Kidney Pond.

In the wide Nesowadnehunk Valley, south of Doubletop Mountain, is a collection of twenty or so ponds. Many of the ponds have trails to them and rental canoes on their shores. Each pond is unique in its own way and worth visiting. The ponds are good places to see moose and other wildlife, especially early in the morning or at sunset.

From the shore of each pond, you have fine views of Doubletop Mountain and Mount O-J-I. The trail to and between the ponds passes through a spruce forest that is among the mossiest in Maine. Both ponds have rental canoes."
