Gorham Mountain Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This is a classic Acadia hike to a 525-foot peak with sweeping views of Great Head, Sand Beach, Otter Cliff, Champlain Mountain, and the Beehive. The trail, among the most traveled in the park, is also one of the most historic, dating back to the early 1900s and the Great Depression. The hike includes a spur trail to Cadillac Cliffs and an ancient sea cave.
The Gorham Mountain Trail, marked by blue blazes and historic Bates-style cairns, takes hikers to some of the most rewarding views in Acadia, with nearly uninterrupted ridgetop panoramas of everything from Great Head and Sand Beach to the Beehive, and from Cadillac Mountain to Dorr Mountain. The trail follows the great ridge that runs north all the way to Champlain Mountain and is the closest to the ocean of all of Acadia’s mountain ridges."
