Valley Peak Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"The Valley Peak Trail provides some of the most spectacular views of the Cranberry Isles and of Somes Sound, the only fjord on the east coast of the United States. A short but steep climb from the trailhead brings you to the 520-foot Valley Peak at 0.4 mile.

The view to the southeast includes the nearby Greening Island, the more distant Cranberry Isles, Northeast Harbor, Fernald Cove, and the narrows at the mouth of Somes Sound. Highlights: Great views of the Cranberry Isles, Somes Sound, Norumbega, Sargent, and Penobscot mountains."
