Seawall Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The National Park Service manages two campgrounds within Acadia National Park: Seawall and Blackwoods. The latter is more popular, and more often crowded, by virtue of its location along the oceanside Park Loop Road. In fact, I’ve often camped there just for that reason. It’s extremely convenient to Park Loop Road’s prime attractions, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole (a hole in the rocks carved out by the surf in which the waves cause a thunderous boom), Otter Cliffs, and some great hiking trails up and over the short, steep cliff known as The Beehive.

So I was pleasantly surprised, if not completely converted, the first time I pulled into Seawall Campground. There are three areas to check out here: the drive-in tent sites in areas A and B, and the walk-in tent sites in area D. No tents are allowed in area C, but that’s the RV section, so why would I want to be there anyway?"
