Flying Mountain Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"This short hike leads to good views of the waters surrounding the entrance of Somes Sound."

"This hike takes you up one of the lowest peaks in Acadia, yet it features one of the best panoramas, overlooking Somes Sound, Fernald Cove, and the Cranberry Isles. There are views of Acadia and Norumbega Mountains, and perhaps even of peregrine falcons in flight over nearby Valley Cove."

This is an easy and fun short walk, great for kids and for dogs. The forest setting is pretty and the beach access is awesome. Get there early!
