Rosaryville State Park

Rosaryville State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Avalon’s little sister, nestled just outside the beltway in southern Maryland, is Rosaryville State Park. Conceived in partnership by the Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts (MORE) and Maryland’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Rosaryville is one of the region’s newest off-road destinations.

The ride is similar to Patapsco, but with less of the extreme portion. There is a single 8-mile singletrack perimeter loop that circumnavigates the park with a short inner-extension technical loop that’s bound to please the most demanding riders."

"Tile Perimeter Trail was built with mountain bikers in mind, which explains its meandering route through the forests and fields of Rosaryville State Park, near Upper Marlborough. Autumn and early spring lend themselves to a great walk through Rosaryville State Park. This is the time that warblers and vireos are found under the forest canopy; when monarch butterflies alight on the nourishing field plants; when the raptors circle overhead watching, waiting for a time to dive. A hike on the Perimeter Trail by and large remains in the forest, but within the first mile, two detours follow old roads and unmarked trails into neighboring fields." Read more

Flat and fast. Twists and turns but easy to follow. Be aware of horseback riders (sometimes 10 or so horses) using parts of trail. Great swooping bank right before/after bridge crossing... you can get sideways!
