Watkins Regional Park Campground Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This campground is extremely underused, so privacy is almost guaranteed. Much like its county neighbor, Cosca Regional Park, Watkins Regional enjoys a reputation as a beloved oasis of recreation in the congested national capital region. It encompasses more than 850 acres and has an endless array of terrific nature programs year-round, plenty of heavily wooded trails, and a wonderful nature center.
In addition, the park has a popular miniature train, miniature golf, and the simply delightful Chesapeake Carousel—more than a century old—which has been entertaining youngsters in its current location for more than 40 years. These attractions are available during summer. Visitors will also find the Old Maryland Farm, an agricultural educational farm; athletic fields; picnic pavilions; and a popular indoor tennis bubble. There are almost 7 miles of hiking trails, plus an equestrian trail."
