Patuxent Water Trail Campgrounds Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Patuxent Water Trail is run by a consortium of environmental organizations dedicated to preserving the Patuxent River, which runs more than 100 miles through several central and southern Maryland counties before emptying into the Chesapeake Bay. Each site is similar in that they are all, obviously, astride the Patuxent.
There are five separate campsites along the river, four in Prince George’s County and one in Charles County, in the more southerly portions of the Patuxent, where it approaches the bay. Each site is similar in that they are all, obviously, astride the Patuxent. They vary in the amount and kind of foliage and whether the pull-in area is marshy or sandy, but each is lovely and promises to please."
