Tuckahoe State Park Campground

Tuckahoe State Park Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The lake’s 40 acres of flooded forestland is the most unique attraction. While the rest of the lake is open water and allows for great fishing, there’s something about paddling around trees teeming with herons, ospreys, and bald eagles that feels absolutely primeval. Don’t worry if you didn’t bring a canoe; the park provides rentals. For a great experience, explore the park’s great water trails and then beach to walk more trails (some 15 miles worth in all) throughout the forest.

Another attraction to Tuckahoe is its isolated feel. A perfect jewel of typical Maryland Eastern Shore scenery, it has so far been spared rampant development that threatens so much of the Eastern Shore. In fact, you’ll be forgiven if upon first visit you think you’ve taken a wrong turn and are heading to nowhere, with no infrastructure."
