Greenbelt Park Campground Professional Review and Guide

"When the federal government acquired land to build the Baltimore–Washington Parkway (Route 295) in 1950, Greenbelt Park (1,100 acres) was established as a sanctuary between the two big cities. It sits just 12 miles north of Washington and 23 miles south of Baltimore. Today, the corridor between Baltimore and Washington is highly developed, but Greenbelt Park remains a green sanctuary.

You’re never too far from something at Greenbelt. Its proximity to the capital, its wooded sites, and its fine hiking trails are worth a visit. All sites are wooded and nicely shaded but without much room between them. In some cases, it’s barely 10 feet from one campsite to the next. The most you’ll ever find between sites is around 75 feet."
