Senece Greenway Trail: Frederick Road (MD 355) to Brink Road Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The unspoiled and little-used Greenway Trail in Seneca Creek State Park features varying terrain and fauna along the pristine creekbed, making it one of the metro area’s best close-in trails. Running the length of Seneca Creek State Park and beyond in west-central Montgomery County near Montgomery Village, the 25-mile-long Greenway Trail is one of the finest close-in hiking trails.
This out-and-back hike of 8.7 miles, with 900 feet of elevation change, uses a section of the trail located in Gaithersburg, about 25 miles northwest of Washington. It’s a very scenic section, which mostly lies close to Great Seneca Creek, one of Seneca Creek’s chief headwaters. You’ll be in a serene and mostly pastoral landscape of wildflower-dappled floodplain areas, thickets, and wooded hills."
