"This hike is steep, but it rewards you with a spectacular view of the Potomac River Gorge from the rock outcrop at Weverton Cliffs. This is the most popular section of the Trail in Maryland, with the possible exception of a 0.1-mile piece in Washington Monument Park. Weverton Cliffs can get crowded on pleasant summer days, but the walk is just as pretty in the off-season if you are interested in some solitude.
