"Tucked among neighborhoods in eastern Montgomery County on the border with Prince Georges County, Fairland Recreational Park offers about 5 miles of paved and dirt trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians, as well as playgrounds, picnic areas, playing fields, basketball courts, an aquatic center, and tennis courts. The Holly Trail in the northernmost section of this 322-acre park is heavily wooded and follows the undulating landscape of ridges and narrow stream valleys around Little Paint Branch. The trail passes close to two neighborhoods and the Gunpowder Golf Course, which allows access to the park via people’s choice trails." Read more
