Magruder Branch Trail and Lower Magruder Trail

Magruder Branch Trail and Lower Magruder Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Damascus Recreational Park is 284 acres and has multiple outdoor athletic fields and courts for general recreation opportunities. A stream valley that runs adjacent to the park has a modest trail system that enables hikers in the northernmost part of Montgomery County to enjoy a restful woodland setting where plants and animals thrive.

This out-and-back hike can be extended to 7.3 miles one-way. It starts with part of a paved trail that extends north to Damascus. It then continues on a dirt trail that extends south to Seneca Creek. You can make the hike longer or shorter depending on where you park and how far you feel like walking. You can turn around at any point. It is a popular spot for dog walking and jogging. You will see an occasional bicyclist, but the boardwalks and limited length make this a less-than-ideal bike path."
