Western Maryland Getaway Professional Review and Guide

"This itinerary will take you from Baltimore to Frederick, the town remembered for its “clustered spires” in John Greenleaf Whittier’s poem, “The Ballad of Barbara Fritchie.” From Frederick there are a number of pleasant trips you can take in any direction in the surrounding countryside.

This eTrail has everything you need to plan a travel experience in Western Maryland and includes details on Frederick, South, North, and West of Frederick, Harper's Ferry (West Virginia), Hagerstown, Fort Frederick State Park, Hancock, Cumberland, and Grantsville."

A trip to Cumberland is worthy due to it''s lovely mountain setting and it''s proximity to so many natural wonders. While I''ve never done much more than pass through, I''m always impressed by it''s setting along the Potomac, at the foot of some very large mountains. I''ts actually the type of town where everybody feels like if they had to move, they could move here. As for me, I''m content to spend a few hour just eating and walking around, then driving along the highway through the mountains that surrounds this city.
