"A favorite destination for kids and dog walkers, Cabin John Regional Park encompasses the Locust Grove Nature Center, a miniature train, Bethesda Big Train 1A Pro Baseball Stadium, a huge playground, an ice rink, and other recreational facilities. This trail originates at Tuckerman Lane and ends on Democracy Boulevard.

The trail contains diverse flora—a thick forest of oak, beech, tulip trees, and one of the area’s largest sycamores. Despite heavy year-round use, the land remains wild and natural, even a bit hilly. To begin your hike, park on the west side of the parking lot in front of the Cabin John Indoor Tennis Center. Look for the Pine Ridge trailhead at the edge of the parking lot, and enter the forest. The natural-surface trail is at times uneven with roots; it’s marked with white blazes."
