Cedarville State Forest

Cedarville State Forest Professional Review and Guide

"Tight twisty singletrack is what you'll find when you visit Cedarville. There are over 10 miles of singletrack and doubletrack in this 3,500-acre state forest just south of Washington, D.C. Its proximity to the nation's capital and its modest terrain have made Cedarville State Forest a popular cycling destination for riders throughout the region.

Unlike neighboring parks to the north, the trails in Cedarville are generally hard-packed dirt with very few rocks. Occasional mud holes may slow you down, but this is otherwise one of the most enjoyable mountain bike destinations in the area. Trail Surface: Flat, dirt trails and dirt roads."

Easy ride and fairly level. I wasn't impressed with the trail markers. Wish the mile markers were more clearly marked. All in all a nice and easy ride for most.

A great trail to train on. The length on moderate terrain makes for a very good cardio workout. The climbes won't "wind" most people, but that makes less fun downhills. Overall this is a great trail for everyone especially if you find yourself walking your bike up the climbs at other area rides.

This is a great place to take people new 2 the sport. It's not very hilly nor 2 tech. A bit muddy even 3 day after a rain. A lot of trails 2 choose from. Park fee $2.00 per car best 2 park at the bottom of main gravel road near the pond.Easy down hill ride 2 get there when finished trailing.
