Leominster State Forest

Leominster State Forest Professional Review and Guide

"The extensive hiking trail system explores even more of the park than you can see on this ride. Currently riders who are found on the hiking trails receive a warning from the forest rangers who also have the authority to issue fines and arrest violators.

This fire road trail can be a four-season, but in the winter ad fall, the forest is open to hunting and snowmobiling. Hunters can be more easily avoided by paying attention to the hunting season and by biking on Sundays. The same trails open to biking and horseback riding are also open to the snowmobiles, so stay alert. Terrain: Dirt doubletrack fire roads with some imbedded rocks and loose gravel surfaces."

Excellent trail riding experience! Staying clear of the southeast end of the property will prevent any unwanted encounters with the Sportsman Club. There's a large network of trails for both hiking and mountain biking. No single trail can be labeled with a particular experience level. Most trails are clearly marked however it is a good idea to keep a compass handy and to pick up a park map at the Forest Headquarters or picnic area.
