Stevens Glen

Stevens Glen Professional Review and Guide

"Towering trees and cascading Lenox Mountain Brook make Stevens Glen one of the area’s most refreshing walking destinations on a warm summer day.

Stride down wooden steps under the shade of a yellow birch to a map kiosk where trail maps are often available. The trail, blazed with rectangular red blazes, leads right, through a balsam fir plantation (Note: Trail blazing is slated to change to blue). The trees are tall and straight, their bark marked with resin “blisters.” A geranium relative, Herb Robert, with pink blossoms, blankets the forest floor in early summer. The dirt path leads easily down, past invasive garlic mustard as well. You’ll reach a money pipe at a Y intersection. Turn right and continue to follow the red blazes. Both directions lead to the Glen; you’ll be returning along the other pathway."
