Quabbin Park

Quabbin Park Professional Review and Guide

"Five miles west of Ware. Three short hikes provide a peek at the park's offering. Travel mixed woods, top the summit tower, pass cultural remains, and explore the shores of Quabbin Reservoir, Swift River, and Pepper's Mill Pond.

Special attractions: Tower vistas, fishing, cultural sites, bald eagles (5 nesting pairs, with 18 remaining year-round), spring wildflowers, fall foliage, fall hawk migration."

An Army Ranger wouldn't bother to mention that he is an Eagle Scout. Kind of a moot point.
the sumit loops is not for children some parts of the trail are nothing but game trails on switch back going down a hill, some parts have moss covered rocks and logs, I (a army ranger/eagle scout) found it easy enough but my 9 year old son had a hard time. parts are easy but the whole summit loop is not for children or adults out of shape. if your a healthy hiker do it,wild life to see deer, birds, wild turkey ect. I would hike it again by myself with out my son or wife.
