Blackstone Canal at Uxbridge

Blackstone Canal at Uxbridge Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This hike explores the primary estate and contiguous natural lands and waters of an early twentieth-century New England “power couple,” Oakes and Blanche Ames. You can first visit their fireproof granite home, dubbed “Borderland.”

From there visit their forests, fields, and ponds, managed for wildlife under the Ameses’ direction. Stop by a standing farmhouse and then move on to the site of a farm, once an Ames dwelling, from the early 1800s. View a stone lodge before completing your circuit through this popular state park."
