Take a trip back in time to when the Vineyard relied more on farming than tourism, by cycling through the agrarian center of the island, West Tisbury. This ride also offers opportunities for off-road biking, hiking, and swimming. Because the loop circumnavigates the forest, much of the pedaling is on bike paths. Edgartown cyclists, proceed west 4 miles on the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road to the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. Turn left onto Sanderson Avenue, the road next to the school, and pick up the directions at No. 7.
