Quincy to Nut Island

Quincy to Nut Island Professional Review and Guide

"The “City of Presidents,” Quincy is but a brief T ride from downtown. Its meandering coastline and views of the Boston skyline across the harbor draw cyclists of all levels to the Quincy Shore. This ride is a quick loop from Quincy Center out to the breathtaking Nut Island that juts into Quincy Bay, then north up Quincy Shore Drive and back down through Quincy via Newport Avenue. Along the way, you’ll hit that sweet spot combination of history and beachfront that makes Quincy so unique.

You’ll start the ride at Quincy Center, just next to the Quincy Center station on the Red Line. You’re in nearly the precise geographic center of Quincy, which is nicknamed the “City of Presidents” as the birthplace of John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams, the second and sixth presidents, as well as of John Hancock."
