Quabbin Century Classic Ride Professional Review and Guide
"Circumnavigate one of the most glorious landmarks in Massachusetts—the Quabbin Reservoir, the source of drinking water for more than half the state’s residents. Four towns were "discontinued" to establish the reservoir, which holds 412 billion gallons of drinking water and stretches some 18 miles from north to south.
The Quabbin Classic is hilly and challenging, but there are some spectacular views to be enjoyed at the reservoir and a plethora of beautiful quiet country roads to explore and enjoy along your journey to make the effort well worthwhile. The route visits several quaint New England towns, along with the more heavily populated college town of Amherst. Classic town commons, expansive farmlands, stunning water views, challenging climbs, and fast, fun descents make this ride a memorable adventure."
