Beaver Brook Association Trail

Beaver Brook Association Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Starting with the vision of land stewards Hollis P. Nichols and Jeffrey P. Smith and a meager 18 acres, Beaver Brook now encompasses over 2000 acres of woodlands and wetlands for the public to enjoy. With approximately thirty-five miles of trails, hikers, bikers, birdwatchers, and equestrians have many recreational opportunities. (Some trails are multi-use, and some are designated for hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing only.)

The Beaver Brook Association—a private, nonprofit educational corporation dedicated to environmental education and land stewardship—also offers many programs for children and adults to support their mission. This is a great place for kids, as many of the trails pass by ponds and alongside brooks over fairly easy terrain. The interconnecting trails provide many opportunities for choosing different routes and taking shortcuts when energy wanes."

"Located just over the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border, the Beaver Brook presents a landscape where beavers abound and loons or even a wandering moose wouldn’t come as a big surprise. Like many conservation projects, the 2,000-acre Beaver Brook exists because a small group of individuals with a passion for the environment got an idea and acted on it. The Beaver Brook Association manages a cabin facility that accommodates up to 22 people, with two bunkhouses, a cookhouse, a well house, a campfire circle, and a primitive latrine." Read more

Very nice area, but not a easy trial for mountain biker! Beginner has to walk few parts, to difficult. Very good signed trails and not to much traffic.

This trail system is an easy going walk for both children and adults alike. The trail winds through the woods meandering past bogs, fields, an occasional farm and is not overly covered with tripping hazards such as rocks or roots. It is a very quiet and serene set of trails. There are some seperate trails along the system set aside for bikes or horses. The trails are easily located as their are many road signs easily seen where appropriate. This trail system is free.
