North Brook Cascade

North Brook Cascade Professional Review and Guide

"Just a couple of minutes from downtown North Adams and MassMoca, this unbridled waterfall is the favorite place for local residents to cool off on hot summer days. North Brook courses down the northern slopes of the Greylock Massif and over the narrow Hoosic River valley.

This vibrant stream not only ties together these two very different regions it also reflects each one. This hike begins in the valley where the stream is quick but tame, heads uphill along the rocky banks to a ragged rock face at the edge of the massif where the brook shoots through water-worn fissures in a spectacular display. It is an excellent short walk to sandwich between exploring the sights of Williamstown and North Adams."
