Newbury Ramble Ride

Newbury Ramble Ride Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Newbury Ramble takes you exploring among the broad salt marshes, prosperous farmland, and gracious estates just inland from the coast south of Newburyport. You’ll pass imposing mansions built by sea captains and merchants in Newburyport and also The Governor’s Academy, the oldest boarding school in the country. The area abounds with country roads that promise relaxed and delightful biking.

The downtown and waterfront areas, lying just off the route between High Street and the river, have been restored and are worth exploring. Gracious brick buildings from the Federal era line State Street, the main downtown street. At the base of State Street, next to the river, is Market Square, where the old brick mercantile buildings are."
