Maudslay State Park

Maudslay State Park Professional Review and Guide

"This flat loop around a 480-acre park begins with a visit to the ruins of a historic mansion, with commanding views of the Merrimack River and stunning summer flower blooms.

The path then traces the edge of a cliff side just above the river’s edge—a favorite winter roosting area for bald eagles. After a quick trip to the park’s highest point (a modest 150-foot hill), it loops back to the start."

Please see my comments for the "Mountain Road" trail....as that is the trail I was looking for when I "found" Maudslay Park instead (the map is incorrect for Mtn Rd). I also uploaded pics of Maudslay Park. Its a nice open park. Quite crowded any day of the week. Parking is $2 per day. Trails wide (for the most part) and easy to follow. Not steep or challenging at all. Nice for a walk with family or leashed dogs or a picnic.

One of the better State Parks in Mass. Lots of trails along the scenic Merrimac River. Spring offers Rhodendrums in bloom that are 10ft tall along carriage paths and the manicured gardens. Winter offers cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and the chance to spot some Bald Eagles. The Park also offers plays and concerts through out the year.
