York Lake Professional Review and Guide
"A wonderful place for the entire family to paddle, swim, fish, and explore. There are lots of places to enjoy quietwater paddling in the Berkshires, but few that offer such an outdoor experience with families in mind. York Lake is one of these places, with a long sandy beach and swimming area, restrooms, tasteful picnic areas under the pines, and plenty of places to fish for bass and trout.
The facilities are clustered at the extreme south shore, leaving the vast majority of the lake open and empty of visitors. A paddle around the lake is relaxing and scenic, with both the western and eastern shores providing an array of environments from wetlands to mixed-hardwood forest. The north end of the lake shelters a rivulet named Sandy Brook that flows into the lake as well as the best area to explore for wildlife."
