With 491 acres to explore, Rocky Woods is a place that definitely lives up to its name. Used in the 1700s as a woodlot and quarry, this reservation now features over six miles of footpaths through rolling hills of white pine and red oak. The area’s high water table—part of both the Neponset River Watershed and the Charles River Watershed—forms wetlands throughout the reservation. Through the Trustees of Reservation’s (TTOR) Green Dog Program, dogs are able to enjoy parts of this reservation leash free after receiving a permit. Refer to the TTOR map for updated rules and regulations for the property.
