Lowell Holly Reservation - Two-Pond Ramble Trail

Lowell Holly Reservation - Two-Pond Ramble Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Two large ponds, Mashpee and Wakeby, separated by a peninsula called Conaumet Neck, form the backdrop for this woodsy ramble through a reservation named for its fine stands of American holly. Other trees and shrubs combine to form a botanically rich and diverse environment.

Most of the route is well marked with white rectangles affixed to trees beside the trail. A parking area on South Sandwich Road provides year-round access, but from Memorial Day through Labor Day, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (gate is locked promptly without warning), visitors can drive into the heart of the reservation; this shortens the walking distance by about 1.3 miles."
