Marblehead Ramble Ride

Marblehead Ramble Ride Professional Review and Guide

"Explore the wonderfully classic coastal New England town of Marblehead, cruising along a beautiful coastline peppered with many parks and places of historic interest. Marblehead Neck offers a visit to Chandler Hovey Park, a beautiful spot with a nearly 360-degree view of the sea and a 105-foot-tall cast-iron lighthouse built in 1896.

From the Neck, you’ll travel to downtown Marblehead, where you’ll be much better off on a bike than in a car as you weave along the narrow streets that are lined with beautifully restored historic homes. The pace is easy and the route contains many opportunities to stop for food, shopping, or visiting many historic sites."

Pleasant, easy ride. Picked up the trail in Swampscott, then made the loop. Keeps you off the main roads as much as possible. As the directions get into the downtown area, it can get a little hard to keep up. We actually got lost briefly, though our detour took us to Fort Sewall, which was a pleasant surprise.
