Lynn Woods Professional Review and Guide
"At nearly 2200 acres, Lynn Woods Reservation is one of the largest municipal parks in the United States. The forest contains a variety of ponds, wetlands, swamps, streams, large glacial outcroppings, and rocky ledges. Wildlife is abundant, including over a hundred species of birds that either inhabit or seasonally frequent the woods. You often can see hawks, owls, foxes, and deer while walking the trails. Lynn Woods truly feels wild in the city.
Before visiting Lynn Woods print out the great map found on the City of Lynn’s website. All official roads and trails are numbered using a grid system, which makes the navigation of the forest much easier with map in hand. From the parking area, continue past the gate on the now-gravel Great Woods Road. Within a few minutes, take the first trail to the right and head down toward Walden Pond."
