Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary—Beaver Ponds Loop

Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary—Beaver Ponds Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Lying in a scenic valley on the east flank of Lenox Mountain,
Pleasant Valley’s 1,300 acres and 7-mile trail system offer wonderful hiking and wildlife observation opportunities. An active and easily observed (at dusk) beaver colony is a highlight of this loop route.

All visitors are asked to register at the circa 1790 farmhouse that serves as the sanctuary office. Registration cards and trail maps are available inside and sometimes outside, after hours. Check the board for recent wildlife sightings and examine the nearby orientation panel that includes a large artist’s rendition of the trail system."
