Lenox Mountain

Lenox Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"Not the longest trip but lots of fun, with a nice track that’s a warm-up for a very challenging climb to a great mountaintop view. This is a favorite trip of the staff at Berkshire Bike and Blade in Great Barrington, which is a great recommendation all by itself. In just about all of the Berkshires, black bears are becoming increasingly common.

In this area of Lenox, however, bears have been common for many years, and seeing one on the trip shouldn’t be a surprise. The trailhead is off Reservoir Road at the gated entrance to Dunbar Road, a dirt track that was once a well-maintained carriage road. The surrounding woodland is a hardwood forest of beech, maple, and oak."
