Tidal Information
Currents in Hull Gut can be quite strong, creating turbulent conditions. The gut is also a nexus for boat traffic and at peak times can turn downright chaotic. Ideally, pass through the gut at times with less current and boat traffic. Around the outer islands, expect open ocean conditions and plenty of boat traffic, including high-speed ferries and whale-watching boats. Most large ships follow the channels north of this area into President Roads, but they will also follow Nantasket Roads on their way into Quincy Bay.
