Callahan State Park

Callahan State Park Professional Review and Guide

"At the beginning of this ride, an earthen dam winds left around the bottom of the park. On top of this dam is a doubletrack gravel and dirt path. This path serves as an access road that leads to a bunch of mild trails that wind through the southern part of the park.

The trails have plenty of roots as well as a few rocks. They also offer some climbs--but they are intermediate grade for the most part. The only real difficult areas in this section are the climb up Juniper Trail and the perpetually muddy spots currently being worked on by NEMBA. Terrain: Packed-dirt double and singletrack. Rocky and rooty climbs and descents. Smooth, thin dirt paths through open fields."

Fun trail..... 35minutes from Boston.. But if you live downtown why bother go all the way there.... Great Brook farms, LYnn forest, the Fells are closer and as fun..... I like the mixture of open space(grass and single trail) and forest biking... Beginner to intermediate enjoy this one since it's not very hilly... If it rained within the last few day expect a LOT of mud and be prepared. LOTS of dogs and dogs S... all over the place. Good loops and good exercise...Enjoy..
