Chappaquiddick Professional Review and Guide

"This is a ride that takes you out there, away from it all, onto the quiet island of Chappaquiddick. The road goes from pavement to dirt, and you’ll need a mountain bike or fat tire bike when you get to Wasque Road (mile 3.9). At the end of the road there is nothing but miles and miles of pristine barrier beach. It’s wild and beautiful.

The island of Chappaquiddick, separated from downtown Edgartown by 527 feet, is accessible by car or bicycle only on the Chappy Ferry, which runs every few minutes. While the wait for cars on the Chappy Ferry can be lengthy in the summer, especially in the mornings when heading to Chappy or in the
late afternoon when all the beachgoers are heading back to town, there is no such wait for bicyclists."
