North Hill Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary

North Hill Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary Professional Review and Guide

"The locals who regularly visit North Hill Marsh tell me that the large freshwater pond here attracts all sorts of birds and waterfowl, such as ringnecked and black ducks, mute swans, buffleheads, hooded mergansers, herons, kingfishers, and egrets. Wood ducks find this a good place to nest because of the dead timber standing in the pond and the many nesting boxes that have been erected.

Recently, there have been a number of sightings of osprey near the pond, and a nesting platform has been erected to induce the osprey to nest here. Highlights: Walk along pond with good birding. If you come with young children I recommend limiting your walk to the Yellow Loop Trail, which is about a mile in length and is clearly marked by yellow markings on trees."
