South End, Roxbury, and Franklin Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"One of Boston’s most diverse and historic neighborhoods, Roxbury is also a fascinating conduit from the city to the greener suburbs beyond. This ride winds from the South End along the main stretches of Roxbury via Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue, all the way to Franklin Park tucked away on the neighborhood’s southernmost edge.
From dense urban blocks to rolling woods, craggy hills, and countryclub landscapes, you’ll get a chance to see the many facets of this eclectic borough. You’ll start in Boston’s South End, at the Tremont Plaza where Tremont Street and Arlington Street intersect. This area was once tidal marsh and was filled from the 1830s to the 1870s with gravel from Needham and submerged timbers."
