Woburn and Horn Pond

Woburn and Horn Pond Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The area north of Boston is sprinkled with picturesque ponds and small lakes, their serene calmness so typical of the New England countryside. Nestled squarely between the more oft-traveled Minuteman Trail and Middlesex Fells Reservation, this ride explores three of these oases, following the Mystic River to its two source lakes and continuing through Woburn to Horn Pond. Great for a picnic or a leisurely roll along the shoreline!

You’ll start at Alewife Station, at the trailhead for the Minuteman Trail on the northeast side of the complex, just behind the bike cages. Follow the Minute-man Trail north out of the station, taking a right onto the Alewife Greenway
Bike Path just after the Concord Turnpike overpass. The Turnpike marks the border between Cambridge and the town of Arlington. The path runs along-side Alewife Brook, which flows north from Little Pond in Cambridge to the Mystic River."
