Hemlock Gorge Reservation

Hemlock Gorge Reservation Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Due west of Boston lies the quiet city of Newton. Consistently ranked among the top places to live in the country for its quality schools, safe neighborhoods, and close proximity to Greater Boston’s cultural resources, Newton’s hills are also popular destinations for cyclists. This ride cuts through Newton Centre from Brighton, passing beautiful Crystal Lake en route to Hemlock Gorge, whose steep canyon walls and rushing water from the upper Charles River transfix visitors crossing the landmark Echo Bridge. Between the tranquil sites, smooth ride, and handful of challenging hills, this route has it all!

Watch for traffic along roads and for hikers along the Hemlock Gorge path. Terrain and trail surface: Well-paved urban roads, with brief patches of dirt trail."
