First 1/3 of trail on A.T. was okay, saw a scarlet tanager. Okay up to Finerty Pond trail, but was basically a logging road on Cordonier Trail. Straight, unexciting and poorly marked from Beckett Road back to A.T. I would hike to Finerty Pond and back same route if I ever did this trail again, which is unlikely. Seems a loop trail was made when it shouldn't have been.

This was my first hike in a really long time. The views and trails were very difficult. Make sure you are ready for a straight up hike. My friend and I only made it about a mile. Would try it again when I am back in hiking shape

There are mountain views- off of one of the dirt roads there is a magnificent view of mt. Greylock and the surrounding area. There is also a small gorge on the "gorge trail." Also, a reservoir that is a great place to take your dog and yourself for a swim. I highly reccomend getting a trail map from dcr to find all these excellant spots.

Wildlife! We saw a bear and a porcupine! Well I think it was a porcupine.....and very close up. The bear was almost too close, but luckily it was scared and ran away. No mountain views. Maybe when there are no leaves on the trees there may be a few. Still well worth the hike due to the wildlife experience.
