Savoy Mountain State Forest Professional Review and Guide
"You could separate the 45 campsites at Savoy Mountain State Forest by character into two very different groups. Most of the sites lie within the woods bordering the campground, but many are situated in a pastoral setting atop a hill covered by an open, grassy field punctuated by several large oaks, apple trees, and lilac bushes. This open, orchard-like field in the center of the campground affords a nice view of the sky. That unfettered view even extends to most of the sites set into the woods on the outer perimeter of the campground loop.Sites 1 and 2 are tucked off on their own short road, which leads off to the right after you pass the ranger station at the campground entrance. These are the best sites in this part of the campground. They are spacious, isolated from each other and from the rest of the campground, and set in a grove of tall maple trees."
